Unleash Your Creativity

Let’s get this straight…

Nothing in these workshops is about keeping up with the Jones’s.

In fact I would say that, I will happily go out of my way to do quite the opposite. I find the rapacity and avarice needed to follow this nonsensical pursuit quite distressing, and frankly vapid at best. As a result these workshops are about giving you little tricks that will transform the way you present food. They are about celebrating outstanding bewitching ideas to help your individuality and creativity flourish. Be prepared to be you, have a bit of fun serving beautiful, take your breath away dishes and let the world be bowled over!

For the love of wood!

Upcycle, With a Little Art!

Imagine being on vacation, sitting outside, the sun shining, you’re in a beachside shack sitting at a small terrace overlooking a fishing port. Your food arrives served a la plancha and life is just magical! My advice recreate that feel at home for pennies on a dim. I found these old discarded wooded boards, did a little sanding, used a little pigment and hey presto - food a la plancha can be yours at home anytime.

French Outdoor luxury!

I love genuine old world luxury as far as the eye can see! For a bit of fun this summer, I wanted beautiful stone planters and flowers around my outdoor dining table. However, when shopping around I could not find anything affordable that looked anything like genuine old stone planters. So, I bought cheapo plastic ones for $14 each, did a little artwork, sealed them with clear matt varnish and there you have it - luxury antiques! Now you just need to add the flowers of your choice and you will feel like your dining outdoors in an old French Chateau all summer long!

Stupendous BBQ!

Little is more enticing than colorful food on a plate.Take this simple seafood platter. Mix 3 seafoods of your choice. Here I chose, Red Snapper, Prawns and Calamari! To elevate taste, look and presentation marinate each separately with fresh herbs, lemon, garlic and grated ginger. Then simply adde saffron to the prawn marinate. Once grilled in the elements, your seafood will become moist and beautifully charred. The crowning jewels are the prawns, like the golden circlet of your dish. There you have it, a BBQ fit for Kings & Queens.

Eatable Flowers & Herbs.

I challenge you to add color to all your dishes and table settings. Please be bold and use eatable flowers and herbs over, and over as decorations ! I cannot say it often enough, it’s truly an incredible trick and most of the time - it’s free. It will transform your presentations and add freshness to any dish or table setting!

Give a Little Love to Your Ice.

This is a beautiful way to transform any celebration. It’s super easy, allows you to bring nature to any celebration. I have used this idea with roses, lavender, rosemary, forest leaves and hemlock pines. You can also use this trick to flavor a drink, the herb locked in the ice will infuse the drink as it melts. It’s an easy idea with a big wow factor.

Bring The Outside In!

If you love nature, Forage have fun finding beautiful things on walks, and outings. Use, leaves, bark, branches, stones …. Trust me bring nature to your table, it not only makes everything feel more authentic its a walk on the wild-side from the safety of your home. Let nature’s seasons shine and makes your dining experience special.….

Citrus, Citrus, Citrus!

Color, taste and a whole load of magic! The most wonderful balancing accents that can be added to any dish is often citrus. Lemons, limes, grapefruits - I am a fan of them all! Juiced, zested, cut in segments, carved as flowers and placed on individual plates or large platers you cannot go wrong. Starter, main course or dessert - citrus is your friend.
